New site

After dragging for nearly one year, finally, the new site is up. But the contents are yet to come. As I am busy with so many things, it will take some time for all the sections to be filled up. Thanks should go to H P Nadig who did go thru so many content management servers (CMS) on the web and finally decided on Drupal. It took some time to figure out the pros and cons between different free and opensource CMSes available. Be patient and be with me while I convert and upload the old content into the new Unicode format.

much of what you’ve written here is totally unnecessary.

You’re also missing something here. It is not just "download, install and configure". Its much more beyond that. I’m getting a feeling I should have left you alone to figure out with things and then you would’ve known.

    Hello Mr. Pavanaja,

I apologize for posting here, but I could not find a generic “contact me” link or something similar.

But it is only now that I have seen your question on Michael’s blog (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/michkap/archive/2010/02/24/9968410.aspx).

So I have answered there (so that people who see the question can also find the answer), but I wanted to also let you know about it.

You can (of course) ask any questions directly 🙂

    Best regards,
    Mihai

It is fine since Player 10.0, released about one and a half year ago.
With that version the Player introduced a new text engine.
But it takes time until all the tooling catches up (think Flash Pro, Flex, others)

The engine adds support for Indic scripts, bidi (Arabic and Hebrew), vertical text (useful for Chinese and Japanese), and advanced typography features for other scripts (including Latin)

If you want to use the engine with older tools, you should download the Text Layout Framework library from http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/textlayout/.

The tools are also catching up.
Flash Pro in Creative Suite 5 addresses that for designers, and Flex 4 deals with it for programmers.
